The title says it all. Is it based on IOS image? Because for some reason our 2611's don't seem to know what SSH is.

Yes, but you will need a Crypto Image. Looking on the Feature Navigator on CCO at 12.3 images for 2610-2613 you will need the 'IP/FW/IDS PLUS IPSEC 3DES BASIC' and even then it is only SSH V1 support. No other images are listed that support SSH for the 2610-2613 platform.

If you are running any other protocols than IP (such as IPX) you will be a bit screwed as there are no images for this platform that have both SSH and non-IP protocols.

We're just using IPv4; pretty basic setup really. We have a bunch of 2611's at remote sites that we want to remotely monitor, and Telnet is really insecure.

I have to pay Cisco for that image, correct?

Yes, list price is $1700 I think :o( You may be able to negotiate some discount or trade-in with your supplier though?

$1700 for an IMAGE!?!?

Wow...I had no idea. Hmmm...maybe we'll setup a remote Console server at each site w/ port-forwarding.

Thanks Andy
