Hello all, I want to set up a couple of SIP trunks from my provider. I have Avaya CM Aura 6.1. I was thinking of using Cisco CUBE as the SBC. So given those componets, would I still need to buy a SES from Avaya?

Would the connection between Cisco CUBE and Avaya be a SIP trunk or H323?

If anyone has some doc's for setup of this or similar that would be great!

6.1 can do direct SIP Trunks. I don't know which trunk Cisco Cube would use.

No, I've used a direct connection to a CUBE from Avaya (and also using session manager)

I use SIP

AFAICR, there are no major gotcha's (unless you are using the CUBEs in a HA cluster) then it gets a bit narly with the interface bindings

Take Care

Matt
I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Awesome info guys/gals! Thanks so much.

Anyone have a doc showing the setup?

Direct SIP trunks CAN work. One of the main issues is that CM only supports a TLS or a TCP trunk type. I've run into times where the other end will only do UDP trunks, and efforts have to stop right there...
