Do I need to run the DNS/DHCP client on a DNS/DHCP server?

I have a W2K3 STD server which is both a DHCP Server and a DNS server.

This server has a static IP and static DNS configuration (DNS1 is the Other DNS server on my network, DNS2 is pointing to itself)

Can I shutdown the DHCP client and DNS Client services on this box? I'm 99% sure on the DHCP client, but what about DNS Client?

You need the DNS client services. Otherwise the server will not be able to query itself or other servers for name/IP resolution.

Have Fun![afro2]
