Have W2K Server and the Mac’s (9.x) can connect the only problem are the MACSRV 12061 Errors.
Looking at the Apple talk-Protocol Properties is a pull down menu with the heading “This system will appear in zone:” the zone list is blank.

Do I need to make an Apple Zone? If yes how?.

Thanks in advance.

Go into DNS on the DNS server and right click on your domain, then select NEW ZONE.

I have Zones in my W2K DNS.
Does anybody have Apple talk installed and see a zone in its properties?

I am seeing the errors in Event System log on the W2K Server that the MAC's connect to.

Wirk,

What are the event numbers and event source errors you are seeing in event viewer?

I have Appletalk service where I work. We have MACs (os9, os10) connecting. I don't have a zone configured. Where do you see this zone? I displayed the Appletalk Protocol Properties and there is nothing in the "This system will appear in zone". I don't believe you need to configure a zone unless you had an Appletalk router or something.

I don't think I need a zone either, but I was not sure.
I've already been to the above links before, but they did not offer any help.

So I'm still having problems with 12061 errors as stated in EventID.net

Do you use MS-UAM on you MAC's?.

Thanks for your help.

Yes...When connecting to a network shared folder from the MAC you get prompted for the username + Password to authenticate to the share.

Wirk,

Have you also checked out the "Apple/MAC operating system" forum to see if someone from there can offer any thoughts on any MACintosh related problems?

Zoey
