In what instances do you have to manually input DNS entries on to the DNS server? I'm guessing you only need to do this with clients whose IP addresses are out of the scope assigned by the DHCP server?

All your devices should point to your internal DNS servers.

Your internal DNS servers should point to each other.

You should configure your DNS servers to use your ISP's external DNS servers as forwarders.

dearingkr, here's a star. Simple solution, on the money. EST7745, here's the reasoning. When you have a workstation try to access a web site, you want it to look at your internal dns servers first for fast name resolvement. If the name is in cache on your local dns servers, you get name resolvement almost at once. If it's not in cache locally, you're dns servers go to the isp for name resolvement, which takes a little longer. Once they have the correct name, it goes into cache locally, so the next time you try and go to that site, it is resolved locally. Good luck.
