On my master DNS server that holds the primary DNS zone kind of got screwed up. What I did is that I went to the security properties since this was AD integrated DNS server and I changed the DACL for the pre windows 2000 computers as denied. I should have known better but it was too late. So after the change, in the dns server console I get this access denied error. So what I did is that other server that was running the secondary zone. I upgraded it to run the primary zone. I tried to remove the DNS service from add remove programs and also configure your server wizard. But I can’t seem to start the DNS service on the DC because its seems to be acquiring the earlier setting. So is there anyone that knows how I can reverse these settings??

If your DNS is active directory integrated and you have a backup of AD from before the change, then you may be able to restore it along with the AD.

Well thats true I thought of that but the thing is that I dont have a backup before the change
