Hi, I'm trying to add another domain controller to a new AD structure (upgraded from an old NT domain). I set up DNS as part of the AD installation on the first server. I have specified the IP of the first as the DNS of the second (in the TCP/IP settings on Number 2) but I can't get AD to install on the 2nd as it's saying it can't find a domain controller for the domain. They can all see each other in network places etc. I think it's going wrong on the DNS and not being able to sort it.

If anyone has any suggestions please I'd much apreciate them.

Thank you

Gareth

You should have the second installed as a dns server pointing to itself. The first will be a second dns server.
