Hi. I am hosting several web sites on my web server (Windows 2003 Server) using a WIndows 2000 Server for my domain controller. The only bad thing about my system set up is that my Exchange Server is on my domain controller.

I am hosting my own primary and secondary name servers for my web sites but I really don't have a good view of how this process works. Everything is working fine but I have tried to add a couple more web sites and I am getting a dns error even though several of my sites with the same name servers configuration are working fine.

1) Can someone tell me where I might look to find why my newer sites are not beign found even though the sites appear to be set up the same as the older ones from the domain name registrar on down to the web files?

2) Can someone tell me where I might find a good resource for getting a better understanding as to how this process works?

Thanks~

Just trying to make sense of it all ...

MS offers some free resources that are quite useful;

- DNS step by step guide

- Managing the Windows Server Platform: Domain Name System (DNS) Service Product Operations Guide

- Technet TNT sessions

Hope this helps
