I have a dns server dns1.domain.com. I have about 500 domains on several registrars pointing to it. I need to change the IP on the box and move it. Shouldn't I be able to just change the A record for dns1.domain.com and have it work? I tried that and I've waited 2 days and it still shows the old IP at the root servers. Did I do it wrong?

Thanks for any help.

Let me get this right you have ns1.domain.com as your name server and you need to move that right? Ok well you may remember that you had to register that name server with a certain IP. You need to go back to that registrar and change it there as well as the A record on your DNS server.
Once you make the change at the registrar you will be able to see the change with in 24-48 hours.

I thought I could get away with it without contacting netsol. But, alas, I had to.

Thanks
