I recently demoted a Domain Controller to a member server...This server did have DNS installed but when I demoted it, DNS was obviously removed.

In DNS, I still see this server showing up as a "NAMESERVER" (Same as Parent Folder) along with the other DC/DNS servers...

It won't let me delete it manually...Any ideas? I've demoted DC's/DNS servers in the past and they were removed from DNS...

Any ideas?

bdoub1eu,

Are you certain that DNS was removed when you demoted the DC?
Member servers can be DNS servers in an AD domain.

Yeah, I'm sure that it's no longer there...I think I found it...I removed the server from the DNS nameservers and it removed it in the DNS list...
