Client running NT4.0 platform planning W2K migration. They just rolled out new DNS platform. 4 servers running BIND 9.2.1

I doubt there will be any interest in W2K DNS. With that being said, what advantages do I lost if they stick to internal DNS running BIND versus W2K? If I were to be given the opportunity to speak to them in an attempt to run W2K DNS internally (to integrate to AD), are there any doc's which breakdown the pro's/con's for this?

Thanks

that version of BIND will support a W2K domain. The trick is to get the Admins to allow Dynamic Updates from your 2K boxes, unless they plan on entering everything manually and never changing IP's....

yes , this BIND version is supported. BUT (as MS says) u sometimes and unpreditible definitely will have a BIG problems. I could recommend to use W2kDNS with AD. Then u can replicate zone to BIND DNS and vice versa if necessary.
