nslookup <ip address> shows right name, but nslookup <name> shows "wrong" ip address?
(See example below the line)
Why?

H:\>nslookup 172.16.21.2
Server: gemini.eon.local
Address: 172.31.0.1

Name: pc21.eon.local
Address: 172.16.21.2

H:\>nslookup pc21
Server: gemini.eon.local
Address: 172.31.0.1

Name: pc21.eon.local
Address: 172.16.2.10

So your A record for pc21.eon.local points to 172.16.2.10 but the PTR for 2.21.16.172.in-addr.arpa also points to pc21.eon.local.

If "nslookup pc21" is pointing to the wrong IP address then just change the A record to the correct IP address.

I changed the IP address in the A record for PC21.

But...

Should this record not be dynamically updated as the host's Ip address was changed?
