A web page wont load at all.

I have done a tracert of this completes.
I can ping
why wont load in Internet Explorer??

i really need to get this sorted please help

Check IE settings for connecting to the Internet. Have you firewall? Check that too.

I have checked all the settings in IE. They appear to be correct.

Could this be a problem with a reverse lookup zone?? If so have you got any ideas??

Many Thanks

Paul

The server has enablers configured and forwards requests onto an ADSL router. which then get sent back to win2k machine and then onto the clients.

But for some reason this does not work when it is the DNS server that is trying to load the web page.

I have messed about changing the default gateway and so on but this didnt seem to have any effect

Sicne you can ping, you have an IP connection with that host. Also, pinging to the name is the sign that DNS is wroking properly too.
How your clients are configured? Using NAT? Which DNS are they using? what is that "enablers"?

ok,

DNS server ip address 192.168.16.100
ADSL router ip 192.168.16.51 (this is where the DNS address of the ISP is stored)
DNS forwader address 192.168.16.51

example client configuration

ip 192.168.16.25
dns 192.168.16.100
default gateway 192.168.16.100

Server configuration

ip 192.168.16.100
DNS 192.168.16.100
Default gateway 192.168.16.51

hope this is of use
