My system log is filling up with DNS errors. It happens everyday here are the errors

Registration of the DNS record '_kpasswd._udp.XXX.COM. 600 IN SRV 0 100 464 jrserv.XXX.COM.' failed with the following error:
DNS operation refused.

all of ther errors are simalar.

XXX=domain name

Hey- If you installed a DNS server YOU SHOULD HAVE DNS under your Administrative Tools...
If you don't, then you do not have a DNS Server. Period.

Do This...
Go to Cntrl Pnl, Add remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, INSIDE OF NETWORKING SERVICES- check and make sure you have DNS checked. If not, you have no DNS server... I really don't think you do, from the sound of your posts...

Good luck!

I think what Keith doesn't have is a zone in his forward lookup zone. To add one for your AD, just right click on the forward lookup zone and select New Zone, then specify the domain name that you used for your AD. Be sure to select allow dynamic updates.

Can you give more details as to what the system log says. Is there an event id and category type stuff. thanks.
