DNS issue with win2k box

I'm having problems with one of my standalone win2k servers. I'm wanting to do one of 2 things but neither of them seems to want to work. I want to either, a) integrate it into my active directory tree (I have 8 servers in the AD tree) or b) be able to map a drive on my client PCs from that standalone server.

Whenever I try either I run into a wall. Both end up giving me a RPC endpoint mapper error. When I try to navigate to the computer I get an error that says, "There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper." I did what was listed on the microsoft endpoint mapper troubleshooting page (article 839880) but to no avail. When I tried to run netdiag from my client computer (XP Pro logged into the active directory domain) I get the following error:

netdiag.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point DnsGetPrimaryDomainName_UTF8 could not be located in the dynamic link library DNSAPI.dll

Can anyone help me in solving this problem?

what's DNS point on this box? point to one of DC DNS, and give a shot.
