Hi,

I'm having a small arguement regarding the DNS configuration in our multi-domain forest. We have a forest root Domain, with 5 child Domains, which are all child domains of the root. As it stands, all three root DNS servers are pointing to themselves. I my mind this is wrong as this is how Island DNS can form. My argument is that one Forest root should be a master, only pointing to itself, and the other two to pointing the master as the primary and the other DNS as secondary.

Where I'm not too confident is the child domains... Should all child DNS servers point to a master in it's domain or the master in the forest root domain. Once again, at the moment they are all pointing to themselves.

Hope someone could shed some light on this

Cheers,

Beef
