I have installed w2k server and sp3. After configuring the dns server as described in "How to setup a DNS server for your LAN" in this forum. The dns service was up and running. Nslookup command replayed right answer.

I wander why there is no subfolders in Forward Lookup Zones under the server.domain.fi. Normally there should be folders like _msdcs, _sites, _tcp and _udp.

When I tried to connect to the PDC with Windows XP Pro I got an error which pointed to those missing folders.

I uninstalled the DNS server once and installed it again but the error still remains.

What to do next?

I too am having the same issue, I have uninstalled DNS, and reinstalled it, but those sub folders are still missing, and dcdiag fails because of this.

Thanx,

Just thought you would like to know, the subfolders appeared after a short while.

Thanx,
