I know what the problwem is I just don't know how to fix this.

I enter the A record for my website whitch is suppose to resolve to my IP address when I enter it into DNS.

Well this is what happens I enter it, it works for a few hrs and then I log back onto the site (for example mail.brettums.com) and I get no page found. I can hit the site via IP, but not when resolved...... what is killing me is I know that I enter the A record, but for some strange reason the darn record is gone when I look for it in DNS.
(I also know it's suppose to take time for the record to be updated, and I've waited and waited.... )

Why???
I'm not having the record be trashed if there is no activity for X amount of time.

Feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

I was just wondering if you could help me with a similar problem.. I have been able to access owa with ip address but not with name. I dont know if we even have a dns server but on our gnat box it has 2 dns address which i have put the adresses in properties of ip. Is there anything else i need to do.

thanks

Claire

Hi

You need to do 3 things.

- as said make a A record

- make a MX record

- Create a site in your IIS : the dir is under c:\exchsrvr\webdata

When u use the url to get to your OWA type:

mail.whatever.com/exchange

Also make sure that you double check your security settings.

Hope this Helps
