I have a DSL line coming in with a pool of 30 ips provided by our ISP. Before we got our Win2K we had the 30 pcs on static ip which I setup manually. These all would hit our Unix box that used the router as it's gateway as well and has the ip of (fake: 10.1.104.113). We recently purchased a Win2K server for login scripts/security protocol/etc. I have the server set to a static ip of (fake: 123.254.104.1) with the gateway being the router ip address (fake: 10.1.104.97) I have an address pool on the Win2K of (123.254.104.2-123.254.104.254). When I log into the Win2K from a wkstn, I get a valid DHCP address from the win2k box and it puts the wkstn gtway to the router gateway. My problem is, the Win2K can't see the unix box nor when the wkstn logs into Win2K it can't see the Unix box either.

--So to Recap all the ip info--
Win2K Server: IP(123.254.104.1) / Address Pool Dynamic(123.254.104.2-123.254.104.254)
Router: IP(10.1.104.97) / Address Pool Static (10.1.104.98 - 10.1.104.126)
Unix Server: IP(10.1.104.113)

I appreciate any help.

You will need to setup some sort of gateway between networks, the Unix/router is on the 10. network while your Win2k machines 123.254. so between those 2 networks you will need a gateway, you could double nic 1 of the servers or if you router can do it add another module to it.

Okay, let's say I add another NIC to the Win2K. When I set that NIC TCP up, do I set the wkstn gateway to the Win2K server and that's NIC to the router gateway?

Appreciate the help.

Okay, I have installed the 2nd NIC, here is my setup.

1st NIC: IP (123.254.104.37) / Gateway: Blank
2nd NIC: IP (10.1.104.125) / Gateway: (10.1.104.97) Same as Router

I have DHCP enabled. I have the 003 Router option checked with both the 123.254.104.37 and the 10.1.104.97 in the list. I set the wkstn to log in via dhcp and it successfully gets an address from my address pool and sets the gateway to 123.254.104.37. I can get the Win2K to talk to the UNIX, but I am unable to talk to the UNIX from the wkstn. Again, thanks for the help.

hmm i havent done much accross platform networking, can the UNIX box ping the 2k network and can the 2k network ping the unix box? IS the router your main Internet connection? Are the Win2k machines able to browse the internet? From what i know you configuration should work.
