DNS Config?

I have a linux box running our dns for both of our sites
network ranges 192.168.98.* & 192.168.97.*. I need to replace this old box as it keeps crashing. how do I configure a new nt dns box?

do I create two zones ? do I add the ISP's dns servers to the TCP/IP Page in the network window etc

Hello Handle !

First i would use W2K - The DNS is easier than NT4.

Second i assume that it is possible to reach the server from both the networks (via router, two nics or a router).

Setup the W2K box and install DNS. Then configure the DNS zone for your network as a secondary zone. Type in the Linux box as the primary server for the zone. Then the W2K box will transfer all the entries and you dont have to make the changes manualy. When this is done, turn off the linux box, and "promote" the zone to either standard primary or AD integrated.

All that is left to do is change the DNS server on the clients and that is it.
