Hi

We have a client who is experiencing loads of SPAM, one of the ideas is to change the mx record and point it to a server running spam assasin, we would then like the e-mail forwarded to our exchange servers gateway. Is this possible to achieve and if so once the mx record has been changed to point to the spam assasin server, what dns entry do we need on the spam assasin server to forward the mail to our exchange server. If I have posted this in the wrong forum, I apologise.

Regards, Darren

You would configure the spam box to forward all mail to the exchange server. This would not be done in DNS as you do not want your exchange server listed in these records. The spam box should be the primary MX record.

Chris.

Thanks, that's what I figured.
