I have searched this forum and read the MICS 6.1 Manual. There seem to be conflicts. I have a T-1 that has 50% of the lines direct to the long distance carrier. They are ground start touch tone. If I have the carrier send me DNIS on the dedicated lines do I have to:
1) Change those 12 trunks on the T-1 to E&M?
(If I do, will outgoing calls still work? & will the carrier have to make the same change in his switch?
2) Do I have to do something with DNIS mapping as well as target lines?

The manual says if the E&M trunks are on a T-1 they should be set to manual answer??? I GRabbed the 6.1 manual and did a find "DNIS".
Now I am real confused?

Set the E&M trunks to Auto Answer if you are trying to use them as a DID environment. Then build target lines for your digits received. Yes you can go in or outbound with the E&M trunks

But, do I have to have the LD provider change their setting for the trunks?

Yes, both ends always have to be the same configuration in order for things to work correctly and consistently.
