My main hardrive is listed as useing UDMA mode 5 (ata 100)
This is correct. But My motherboard (epox4G4A+) has a highpoint raid controller. How can I tell the DMA mode. XP Pro dosent list advanced settings in The SCSI section of device manager. It does under the hard drive controllers section. Also when booting I try to pause the screen to read it from there but it scrolls of past the hard drives. Is there a way to read that screen????

If the controller did not support DMA 5, XP would have stepped down the Mode in Drive Properties (all the way to PIO if necessary).

You can take the listed DMA Mode as the controller mode setting.
