After my 5.5 migration to 2003 native mode, the distribution groups associated with my public folders seem to be on the fritz. I can add individual client permissions to the public folders, but when I try to add a distribution group I get a ID no: 80004005 Exchange System Manager error. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this I would appreciate it.
Thanks

I changed to 2000 AD native mode and got rid of the 8004005 error, but my distribution groups are still not working for setting permissions on Public Folders. I have also tried changing from a distribution group to a security group and still no luck. Individual users permissions work fine. Everything I am reading says I should be able to do this with both distribution and security groups.
I am not getting an event log errors or ESM errors.
Thanks

If a group is used to permission an object, ie. public folders, then it must be a security group. A distribution group cannot be used to permission something. You can convert a distribution group to a security group. In fact, the ADC should do this for groups used to permission public folders. SOmetimes the process fails due to dean DNs still in the 5.5 format on the PF. You might find this helps you troubleshoot the issue.
