hi,

Anyone who has the network demands for a distributed MG1000E to a rel 5 CS1000E system?

I have been reading all the manuals, but they all points to another manual that doesnt say much at all..

So, if anyone knows or can point out where I CAN find it, please let me know.

Did you try reading Data Networking for Voice Over IP.It has some good info. What are you looking for exactly.

Specifikations for the tlan connection. It obviousley has other demands than a MG1000B. Why?
I have read about 1000 pages to find a clear information about this.

As i have understood it is 80ms roundtrip delay, packet loss max 0,5%.
Tlan can be routed.

But, how do I exactly find out what bandwidth i use and what bandwidth do the wan connection has to be?
Somewhere it states that the wan connection has to be 100Mbs. MG1000E is in that case almost possible to use in a campus eviroment.

Tlan can go over dedicated layer 2 switches. The HSP which you need for campus redudancy must be on it's own VLAN, and must be it's own subnet not on the ELAN.The HSP port must be 100Mbps full duplex and capable of 802.1p/q.The round trip delay of the HSP must be less then 30msec and less than .1% packet loss. There is alot of info you need, you should really have a NetAssesment done before implementing a VOIP network, I think that 128 active calls use about 12meg of bandwith...not sure exactly though. The WAN part should be configured by the Data side. You probably want about 25% of your network dedicated for voice traffic, but it depends what is priority for you.

To make it short, If I understand it right the demands for the TLAN for a MG1000B and a MG1000E are different. Why?
Is the tlan Mediastream different?

It seems that max roundtrip delay are different for example. Why?

If the demands for a MG1000E are higher, maybe it just needs to be MG1000B that is installed on another site.
MG1000E are much easier to install from a customerdata perspective.

The 1000b hang off of the 1000e, that is what you use at your diffenrent sites.., is the Media Gateway 1000b.The tlan should not make a difference which system your on.The
Core 1000e has some diffenent standards of connecting.Round trip delay will be different
