Hi

I'm trying to export a 12 pg document from Quark 6.5 to Adobe 6. The front cover is an EPS file with some text in it. When I distil/print the file to PDF there are rectangular 'chunks' in the EPS text, which are pixelated. When I view the picture in Quark at full resolution I can see these 'chunks' as brighter colours on the EPS text. Exporting the EPS on its own from Illustrator doesn't cause these problems, it's only when I put the file into Quark that the problem appears. Does anyone know what this is all about?

Depending on your Version of Ill, you might consider exporting as a legacy eps, compatible with version 9 or 10 and see how it works.

If this is driving you nuts and you've got to get the job out, you could save a pdf right out of Ill, Then make the first page of yout Quark doc blank and make that pdf. Then in Acrobat use the Document/Pages/Replace to replace the first page of the Quark pdf with the pdf from Ilustrator.

Thanks jmgalvin.

Although a bit of a bodge, that has done the trick. for getting the project out. Hopefully, this was one of those gremlins that seem to crop up every now and then!
