Distill PDF I get Grid/Grainy look over transperancy

Hello Everyone,
I am using Publisher 2K, that has some 50% transparent sections. When I go to distill it to PDF, the PDF opens up with a grid over the sections that were 50% transparent. I am hoping to send a PDF out for review and then to printer, any ideas why this is happening and is there a way to fix it?

I think this is a problem with using transparency within publisher. If possible it would be better to create the effect within a graphics programme such as illustrator, and then output it as an image you can use at 100% transparency.

A bit annoying to have to do this, but I think you will find it works.
