Three tellers have 2008 phones. One has a 3904. They all come from the same four plug outlet. One 2008 cut a cord and they replaced it. Sometime in this process the 3904 started giving strange messages on the display and the keys don't work.
How can I tell what type of phone is actually plugged in for a TN? I think something got swapped.
The switch is 200 miles away.
thanks

I was sure they plugged them in wrong but until now could not prove it.
thanks much

here's a tip on that..

ld 117
inv generate midnight

then anytime after that

inv prt sets

put that in an excel, you have the as built, the actual as well as the serial number of the set in a file.. i run inv prt once a week to weed out the little helpers that decide to grab a free display set.. it also shows missing sets, and sets that were removed and not outed in the software

I usually work on Siemens. They love those display phones on any system and call in a trouble when they don't work.
thanks
