Displaying digits pressed 3900 series sets

I have an option 11C running rls 5.5 software. After the dialed number is answered the phone display will not record anymore digits pressed on the phone display. On my 1000M switch running Rls 6.0 s/w the phone tracks each digit pressed. Does anyone know what changed with the rls 6.0 s/w that alowed the display of digits pressed. The reason behind this Question is when the 70th digit is press the phone starts displaying special characters around the display and eventially can reset the telephone. I'm still gathering more info to relate if this is a result of new firmware or not. Wanted to throw this out to see if I can get any responces tks.

I've found some old info that relates to the older software versions. I think it might be out of date for release 6, but I had thought the 390x firmware level was updated at release 6.0.

Have you done any firmware updates as I think the 3904's were updated to "93".

The following versions of up-issued firmware for the M3900 series of digital phones are now Generally Available:
• M3903 v8.8
• M3904 v9.0
• M3905 v9.0
This new firmware is applicable to the following CS software releases:
• X21 CS 1000 Release 3.0
• X21 CS 1000 Release 4.0
• X21 CS 1000 Release 4.5
• X21 CS 1000 Release 5.0 (not GA at the time of this bulletin)
