I am trying to insert a photo on a form, I choose a .jpeg from file, but instead of the photo showing on the form the file name shows, wether it is embedded or linked, I am running Access 2003

Most people link a Photo to a db using the image control
if you do a search on image you will find plenty of posts on that subject

Hope this helps

In other versions of Access to embed a photo all I did was to right click on the photo field box on the form and select "Insert Object" then browse for the file and select it, then the photo would appear on the form, but this doesnt happen all I get is a file name?

I tried several times and at last i got an error message!

"A problem occured while Microsoft Office Access was communicating with the OLE server or ActiveX control.

close the OLE server and restart it outside of Microsoft Office Access. Then try the original operation again in the Microsoft Office Access"

does this make sense to anyone? how do i restart the OLE server or the ActiveX control?

have a look at

Hope this helps
