I am working in MS Access 2000 and XP (Users are being updated in stages so I am looking for a solution that will work in both versions). From a form, the user needs to import a text file they have selected into a table (the table will then populate several text boxes on the form for the user to view and perform calcuations on).

1. How do I display the directory where the text files are located and display all text files to the user? (Do I place a button on the form for them to click when they are ready to search for their file to be imported? If so, do I have to code an on-click event or is there a control already built that I can drop onto the form?)

2. How do I allow the user to SELECT one of the text files displayed above and IMPORT it into the MS Access table? (Do I place a 2nd button on the form to perform the import - utilizing an import specification or is there a way to use the window that is displaying the text files?).

Thank you,
Michelle

Thank you Remou, I know there is a lot of data out there on this subject but I was having a difficult time finding the solution for me. This took me to the right place and the code worked!
