I have Windows 98SE installed. I reinstalled the video driver for an ATI RAGE 128 VR SD AGP 2X video card. After installing the driver and rebooting the system, I am unable to save the new settings for the display. Usually the system will allow you to see the changes and then prompt for a reboot, but it never allows me to see the changes. Once I reboot, the changes I made do not exist.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I could not tell you how many time I fought with ATI video drivers. Are you sure you are installing the correct drivers? I have had to reinstall win98 twice before I got them right once. Wish ATI would get a decent driver install program.

Yes, I'm sure I have the right driver. I'm installing from the Gateway System Restoration CD.

Do you think it's necessary to reinstall Windows to get it to work?

It is quite possible. I would download the latest drivers from ATI and try those before I reload. Also, see if they have an uninstall tool before you install them. A+ MCP
