Hello folks! Does anybody know how to renable the screen saver tab under display properties? I've been searching on how to add it back there but it's getting me nowhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks much!

Hello aditrusj,
Is it possible your administrator has implemented policies to avoid users from altering these configs ?

Let me know more... when did you loose the scren saver tab ?

It was actually our corporate bigwigs who decided to remove the screen saver tab and we're trying to counter that by outsmarting them. Any ideas? Thanks again.

Hello again aditrusj,
Sorry for the delay, I've been busy !...

Here is a trick of mine ! (of course... the corporate bigwigs might not like this !)
The trick will only work if you still hava a screen saver showing on idle time...
Find out the name of the screen saver in use... find the file and rename it to something.scr2
Now, get the screen saver you want(regular .scr screen savers only), save the file in the same directory as the one you just renamed. Rename it to the original which your "corporate bigwigs" want you to use !
This should do the trick...
It won't bring back the tab but it will give you back YOUR screen saver.
Hope this helps, S. Gagner

Thanks for the suggestion ntnet but I did that part already. It took the screen saver that I wanted but it still did not put the screen saver tab at all. So I am still investigating. Thanks again and if you find the solution, can you please let me know.

You can do a Repair of the system. You do a repair the same way you would do an install. Either boot from the CD or the boot floppies. Follow the prompts. Eventually you will be given the choice to install new or repair. Choose the repair and go from there. Let us know if you need help. Please let us (Tek-tips members) know if the solutions we provide are helpful to you. Not only do they help you but they may help others.
