If the following has been answered please point me to the solution.

Problem: Setup user in Active Directory as First name Last Name. Want to change to Last name, First name. Have gone into Display name and made the change but active directory still shows first last name.

Any idea how to fix this problem for one user. I know you can use ADSedit or something like that to fix the default and I know I could just delete the user and readd, but would rather not do either.

Thanks for any help;

right click on the user and select rename?

If it doesn't leak oil it must be empty!!

rename will only rename the logon name, not the display name. Go into ADSI, find the user, and then change the attribute for "displayName" there - that will do what you are looking to do for a single user.

NetIntruder: Are you talking about adsiedit? How hard is that to use? I have seen all the warnings, so do not want to use if going to screw up my exchange server.

Thanks

Also, I did as NortonES2 suggested and that did the job. It lets you rename the name plus the login name if you want.

Thanks to both of you for your help.
