Is there an easy way to switch the Display Name Format for all the contacts in my personal address book from Firstname Lastname to Lastname Firstname?

Yes - very easy.
Open your personal address book
Click on Tools and then preferences.
Down at the bottom of the page you see a section titled "Newly created contacts should have names formatted as"
Select the order you want and then click the "Update All Entries" button.
Despite what is says about "newly created contacts" previously crated contacts will also be resorted.
