Display MsgBox on locked screen 1

Anyone know how to display a MsgBox when the XP computer is locked? Everytime I use a MsgBox when the computer is locked, it wont display until the user unlocks the computer.

That's the default behaviour of a locked machine, it's locked so other people can't see/use your applications.

Thanks, yes I agree with you that this is the default behaviour.

However, I'm looking for a way for a msgbox (or form) that will display even though the computer is locked.

I know that this can somehow be done because I've seen applications do this.

Any ideas?

For example...

1. PC Anywhere has a service that runs, and displays a visible box at the bottom corner of the screen while the computer is locked or logged out.

2. When the system is running low on virtual memory, a msgbox pops up while the computer is locked.

3. When sending remote reboot commands, a box with the time to shutdown countdown displays while the computer is locked or logged out.

I realize that 2 & 3 could be built into the OS, but I have seen 3rd party apps replicate this feature.

To do it they replace part of the operating system, specifically MSGINA.

If I were you I'd do a keyword search in this forum concerning the viability of writing a GINA in VB ...
