I have a compaq ml 530 with a smart array 5300. My array is 5 (ea) 72 GB disks. Recently I used the array utility to add 1 72GB drive to the array, now I have 67.83 GB of unallocated space that I need to use to increase my data volume.

Currently I have two volumes C: 10.58 GB (Winnt loaded here), and a D: (193 GB) Volume where my data resides and is the volume that needs more capacity. Both volumes are Simple/Dynamic/NTFS. The pagefile resides on my c: volume.

The server is fully patched and running Windows 2000 server standard service pack 4.

I have attempted to use diskpart to extend my volume, but was unnsuccessful, it appeared to hang at the command line and did not extend.

Is this possible with diskpart and if so what is the procedure?

Procedure I used last night:
1) diskpart
2) select disk 0
3) select volume1
4) Extend disk 0
