I have a mixed enviroment with NT 4.0, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003 server. Does anyone know of a easy none expensive way to automate the process of monitoring disk space on my server besides from logging in to each server. IS their a way to create a script that will email me when disk space falls below a certain amount?

You can use SNMP. You can then customize MRTG ( to watch disk space on the servers (MRTG can also be customized to run a batch file when a thresshold is reached -- so you can use a command-line smtp client to send mail to you)
If you are looking for an alert when disk space falls below a certain amount, you should set up an alert in Perfmon.
Set the following counter:
\\computername\LogicalDisk(driveletter
\Free Megabytes
When the Value is under a set point, you can run a script to send you and email via SMTP...
You can also run Permon remotely so you can monitor numerous computers from your workstation and have it do a net send to your own system when disk space is low on a system.
