Disk Partition Size

Hi

I'm setting up a new server but need some advice about the partition size I should set for the OS taking into consideration the paging file size. I'm installing win2000 server with SQL2000 server, we have 4gb ram. Would this mean I need 6gb disk space for the paging file (1.5 x 4gbram I thing thats the right equation for paging file size). I was going for a 8gb partttion but now I'm thinking of 12gb to allow for paging file.

Any help or ideas

You could always put the pagine file on another partition.

Maximum Windows 2000 pagefile size is 4GB per volume.

Windows 2000 by default allocates 2GB pagefile if RAM exceedes 2GB, of course you can set more manually. I think its enough to have 4GB pagefile for 4GB RAM. More info:
