I am running SBS 2000 on a Dell 1500SC with a RAID1 mirror. Lately I have not been able to access drive management without looking up the server. Which by the way is our Domain controler, SQL and Email server. This is not good. Is this a sign of impending doom? Thanks in advance for your help. Luckily it is in it's last year of a our Dell service contract. I would like to have something to tell Dell when I call.

Use the Dell Raid Manager utility to look at the state of the RAID drives to ensure they are healthy.

Do a disk cleanup, defrag and Chkdsk /F.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Actually when I attempt to run any disk utility such as the Open Mangagement from Dell that is part of the problem. I called Dell and have downloaded some diagnostic tools to run overnight. I will check that out and get back. I cannot run defrag on a partition with Exchange server running on it. I do offline defrag using eseutil.exe for excahgne. But at best it is still very fragmented.
