Hi
I am having a few problems, when I turn on my desktop, I get the msg about disk boot failure. But if i restart my pc again all is well.
Single hard drive on win xp via ata100
I wont supply loads of details as I am sure someone will know exactly what it is.

could be a number of things. Hard drive may be failing - backup critical data & run chkdsk (& manufacturer's utility would be good idea too).

Could just be loose/damaged IDE connector - check in the case.

PS. Some history to this would be useful (has it always done this, if not, any hardware/software changes, crashes, viruses shortly before it started etc)
