I have two servers in my Domain S1 and S2. S1 is the main server and s2 is the backup. Both are running Win 2000 Server.
When I first setup S1 I got everything how I wanted and burnt a GHOST image. Later I setup S2.
I had a hardware problem on S1 and it went down. I fixed the problem and restored S1 from the Ghost Image.
As you can imagine the two servers now don't correctly see each other as the Ghost Image was taken before there was a second domain controller.
So I simply want to demote S2 and then promote it again to rejoin S1's domain.
Problem is I can't remove the domain controller status from S2. Running DCPROMO, it tells me that it can't contact S1 so aborts. If I try and tell it that it's the only server it reports that there is another server and also aborts.
Is there any thing I can do to force the issue or will I need to do a full reinstall ????

Thanks GKDOG
