when i remote call foward on a partner acs R6. ie (call comes into system then fowards to cell phone ) the trunks stay locked up How do I correct this.

From the ACS R6 manual: The PARTNER system will forward only calls on lines that have reliable disconnect. For these
lines, Hold Disconnect Time (#203) must be set to a value other than 00 (No Detection).

Perhaps your phone lines are not actually providing reliable disconnect, (and the ACS thinks they are), or the hold disconnect time is set incorrectly.

Check for reliable disconnect on a standard CO line by calling into your system, and having someone place the call on hold. Then, hang up. The ACS should recognize that the call was abandoned. If the call stays on hold, then your settings are bad, or the CO isn't providing the disconnect signal.

I had one heck of a time having the CO fix a disconnect problem. They were not sending the open loop disconnet and the Person at the CO thought i was NUTS. She said "I have 30 years service and you (meaning our phone system) had to send a signal to US "the phone company". I finaly got a tech to come out after 2 weeks of arguing my case and agreeing to pay $40 if they found no trouble, to check the lines and he was as clueless as the CO Chick, he brought out a sidekick and said No problem . I had to show him that on a line that has the disconnect working right you will see the green polarity light blink Off after the far end hangs up then the green light will come back on again (that is the open loop that the system sees)

The #203 program tells the system How long that open has to be. Usually the phone co sends 500ms of open time so you set it to 400ms.

IF you do have a disconnect signal problem from the phone company get ready for an uphill battle. The service people around just don't seem to know anything about it. Apparently they call it "forward Disconnect"

The waw jlshelton described to test it is the way to check it, the way I did it proved it.
Good Luck
Don
