Disappearing Priners in Win 2k

Restart (or start if its not running) the Print spooler service.
Right click My Computer -> Manage -> Services and Applications -> Services -> Print Spooler and click the start or restart button in the toolbar.
Note that you will need Administrator level rights on the PC to do this. If it happens frequently, you may want to set it to auto restart on fail (check the service properties tab).

I had a smililar problem with one here.
The real problem was that it continued to come back and found that the registry entries for one or more of the printers was scewed up.
I was only able to fix it by rebooting, removing the pritners, deleting all of the registry entries and re-installing each of the printers.
The registry entries are found at
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers]
