Running VM Pro 9.1.4. Attempting to disable a mailbox (essentially we want to stop any type of voicemails going to a mailbox that used to get voicemails). When you uncheck the voicemail tab in manager it does stop calls from ringing into the mailbox however if the user selects "To VM" on their phone it gets deposited to the mailbox that still exists. It then offers the caller to leave a message (which sounds like it would to the caller but doesn't actually record the message). In fact - if the user was savvy enough to turn on forward to VM it goes to mailbox. What is the "real" way of disabling voicemail and not allowing anyone to access that mailbox? Is there a reason why disabling voicemail still allows a user to login to their mailbox? I tried disabling the Voicemail box in VM Pro but this still allows access to the voicemail box. Trying to grasp the concept of disabling/deleting.

I do know that if I rename a user account in manager it now renames the VM account folder (i.e. if the username was John Doe VM creates an account folder with this name and if I change the name in manager it changes the VM account folder name and keeps all previous settings such as greeting, spoken name, messages, etc... and it appears that you must also "clear the mailbox" from within VM to truly reset the entire mailbox).

Start the VMPro client, press F1 and search for Disable.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Since it's VM Pro, how about going to the User, and creating Leave and Collect actions that either disconnect or transfer to an operator?

Go in the Client in the "Specific Start Points" window and click on users, all users and groups are listed.
Right click on a user/group and select "Disable Mailbox".

Thanks all for the posts! I reviewed the situation again and apparently the issue subsided. I deployed 300 extensions and when users came in on Monday to setup their mailboxes it created an incredible lag in the database so when I was disabling certain mailboxes it was "NOT" taking the change. After going back the next day it was working like a champ and essentially advising the caller that you could not leave messages. I tested over and over on the big day but believe it must have been because of the system taking such a hit by all the users. Thanks again! Disabling in VM Pro at version 9.1.4 works for "real" but just not "real" fast when taxed!

When you "save and make live" it doesn't actually take effect until there's no active sessions in VMPro
