I've got a very annoying problem whereby all USB or Memory Sticks now show up as write protected. They worked fine in the past but now I can't write anything to them!

Upon formatting a Sony MagicGate Memory Stick, it now shows up as corrupt and unreadable.

Niether device has a slider or switch to set protection so how can I remove the write protection from these devices?

I'm starting to think that an auto update patch has done something to make this happen!

TIA

[small]have you turned it off and on again?[/small]

Turns out it was due to a security program installed on the pc that disables writing to any removeable device :(
