Win2k automatically sets the mousewheel button so that when you click it, you get that stupid little scroller thingy that lets you scroll up/down/left/right depending on how you move your mouse.

Does anyone know how to disable that when you do not have intelipoint software installed?

Try this registry tweak (note I am using Intellipoint, so dont know if this will definately work)

Find
HKCU\Control Panel\Microsoft Input Devices\Mouse

And set
M_BtnAssignment=0x02c

forgot to mention it'll only take affect after you log off and on again.

Thanks, but that wasn't it. That key doesn't exist, so it must belong to Intellipoint
