I hope I've come to the right forum for this question. I'm using Windows XP and I want to disable the automatic java update for all user accounts. I disabled automatic update from the java control panel in the administrator account, but will that change cascade to all of the user accounts? Does each user account need to be changed individually? I ask this because there are a LOT of user accounts.

What is jusched.exe And Why Is It Running?

I assume it is a setting that applies to the whole machine and its' users. If you prohibit jusched.exe from running that should stop it from checking for updates. Jusched.exe is listed in the Startup section of MsConfig and can be easily disabled.

You can also search for it in the "Run" keys of the operating system registries.

See what you can do via Group Policy too.

Why do you wish to disable it?

Be aware that Java updates are GOOD things in terms of fixing vulnerabilities in that product. I'm questioning WHY you want to disable the updates unless you are going to handle it periodically on your own terms/timetable.
