Could you tell me how to disable auto attendent on a norstar system. Our office has a CICS with 7.1 software on it. Any advise will be greatly appretiated.

Thanks

If the above method dosnt work maybe your using the internal Auto Attendant and to turn it off would be Feature *831

hey thanks for the reply,

but Feature 982 give gives me an error saying "inactive feature".

Thanks

Sorry if i havent explained my problem.

What i want to achieve is to make all the phones in our office ring rather than just one at the auto attendent, we will not have a receptionist.

Thanks

I should have seen CICS, but I always forget that feature code anyway.

Is your system currently answering with a pre-recorded prompt? That's auto attendant.

Or are your incoming calls just ringing at a single ext, and you want it to ring at more phones?

If the CICS is answering the lines when you call in on them then the built in AA is turned on so just turn it off like Bob3470 stated. The other request you have is to make all the phones in the office ring...1st question is do all the lines currently appear on the phones, if not they will need to be added. If the lines do appear on the phones and you just need them to ring you will need to get into the CICS and make them ring, you basically do the adding and chging of lines in the same section on programming.

Entering programming

FEATURE** 266344
PSWD
the display will read
TERMINALS&SETS
press SHOW and enter the ext. of 1 of the phones that you want to ring or add lines to.
after you enter in an ext. the display will read LINE ACCESS
then press SHOW from there you will be in the section where you can chg the ringing/adding of the lines.
GOOD LUCK...
