DirectX d3d8.dll

I recently installed Grand Theft Auto 3 on my computer and i was having trouble with the graphics. I went though troubleshooting and it says i need a a newer version of d3d8.dll . I have 5.1.26000.0 and i need to get 5.1.2600.15 or 5.1.2600.29 in order for the game to run properly. Does anyone know where to find the newer versions of the .dll?

Get the latest DirectX?

Do a search on

http://www.microsoft.com

or

http://www.downloads.com

Also....in the game settings, reduce the trail setting and that will help with game lagging... Enkrypted

Thanks everyone. I did this and then discovered that for Xp i needed sp1 i installed that and now it works great.
